To find out if you made it to the Nigerian Army Recruitment 2024 shortlist, follow these easy steps:

  1. Go to the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal at www.recruitment.army.mil.ng.
  2. Look for the “SSC/DSSC Application (Graduates)” under Careers or click “SSC/DSSC Applications” on the menu.
  3. Immediately a dialogue box will pop up prompting you to download the list. In case you miss just refresh the page.
  4. If you’re shortlisted, your name and important details will be on the Nigerian Army Shortlisted Candidates list.
  5. Print or save a copy of the confirmation page for future reference.

Below are the documents required for the DSSC 2024 training exercise.

  1. Produce original and duplicate copies of academic/professional certificates, testimonials, NYSC discharge or valid Exemption Certificate, as applicable.
  2. Certificate of ordination for Chaplain candidates (Protestant/Roman Catholic).
  3. Certificate of Call to Bar for candidates seeking Directorate of Legal Services.
  4. Valid birth certificate or valid age declaration.
  5. Valid certificate of state of origin.
  6. Military Identity Card (for military personnel).
  7. Letter of recommendation by Commanding Officers/Commanders (for military personnel).
  8. Letter of sponsorship in a tertiary academic institution (for military personnel).
  9. Printed Bank Verification Number (BVN) certificate authenticated by a bank and NIN enrolment slip.
  10. Completed copies of printouts from the DSSC portal, including referee forms.

Document Alterations: Any alteration on documents will render them invalid.

Instructions for Candidates Attending DSSC Selection Exercise

Candidates scheduled for the DSSC Selection Exercise on Friday 10 May 2024, are required to adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Reporting Time and Venue:
    • Report to the Selection Boardat at the Nigerian Defence Academy AFAKA, Kaduna on Friday 10 May 2024.
  2. Required Items:
    • Original credentials, including an online printout showing the passport photograph(s).
    • Four 5 x 7 colored photographs in a suit, standing position, without a cap/hat.
    • Two pairs of unmarked white round-neck vests and navy blue shorts (no stripes).
    • Two pairs of pure white canvas/trainers (rubber type NOT acceptable).
    • Two pairs each of unmarked maroon round-neck vests and navy blue tracksuits (no stripes).
    • Two white shirts, one blue shirt, one black tie, and one black belt.
    • Four pairs of white socks and two pairs of black stockings.
    • Two pairs of national dress or a suit, plus casual wear.
    • One wristwatch.
    • A pair of black-laced shoes.
    • Swimming trunks.
    • Two white bed sheets and pillowcases.
    • One blanket (either grey or army green).
    • Two sets of cutlery.
    • Pressing iron.
    • Toiletries.
  3. Selection Exercise Details:
    • The exercise involves physical, medical, and academic tests, as well as an oral interview for all candidates.
  4. Accommodation and Feeding:
    • Candidates will be fed and accommodated throughout the Selection Board.
  5. Transportation:
    • Candidates are responsible for their transportation to and from the Selection Board. The use of personal vehicles is prohibited.
  6. Visitors and Discipline:
    • Visitors are not allowed during the Selection Board.
    • High standards of discipline are expected from all candidates. Violating instructions may result in disqualification.

Candidates are urged to follow these instructions diligently for a smooth and successful Selection Exercise. Also, make sure you are in good health and very fit for the training exercise because The Nigerian Army will not be responsible for any injuries or deaths recorded during the Selection process.
