Structure of the Nigerian Air Force

The Air Force has a service headquarters, six primary staff branches, four direct reporting units, and four operational commands.

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) is the top adviser to the President, the Minister of Defense, and the Chief of Defense Staff on air matters. The Nigerian Air Force office makes plans for both short and long-term goals to keep peace and stability. They also work closely with the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Navy on plans and policies.

The Nigerian Air Force office has a Chief of the Air Staff and eight sections: Policy and Plans, Operations, Air Engineering, Logistics, Administration, Accounts and Budget, Inspections, and Air Secretary. An Air Vice Marshal leads each section.
